Topic: Week 6 & Week 7
Small Groups - Spring 2018
Body Image / Disordered Eating
A women's group providing support, truth and tools to break the cycle of using food as a coping mechanism. Led by Juleeta Harvey and Kristin Williams, registered dietician. February 15-April 19.
12 Step Discipleship Groups
Men’s and women’s small groups will work through a 12 Step discipleship model that helps us align what we believe about God with what is actually true about God, while learning and believing what the Bible says is true about us as well. Learn how to process through past pain, restore broken relationships, and gain tools to live the abundant Christian life. Find freedom from common coping mechanisms including anxiety, people pleasing, control, pride, addictions, isolation, anger, pornography and other unhealthy behaviors.
A men's group designed to provide a safe place to process pornography and sex addiction, build accountability and find healing. February 15-November 29.
Betrayal and Beyond
A women's group for those in a current or past relationship with someone dealing with a pornography or sexual addiction. February 15-November 29.
Identify and recognize shame, and develop "shame resistance." This six-week course integrates Scripture with authors such as Brene Brown and Curt Thompson. Led by Jan Winebrenner. March 22-April 19.
Men’s and Women’s Open Share Groups
Ongoing groups for anyone in need of support, encouragement, truth and community during times of struggle, transition or on-going growth.
Next Steps Process Groups
Process groups offer a chance to apply insight gained through the 12 Step discipleship process and practice new behaviors and ways of doing healthy, authentic relationships in a supportive, safe and confidential group setting. Trained leaders will guide group members to work together to experience growth through connection with others, to recognize and maximize emotions to lead to spiritual and relational health, and to practice attuning to meet the needs of others and receive from them as well. Applicants must have completed a 12 Step discipleship group.
Recovery for Life is founded on and committed to these Guiding Principles:
Our Higher Power is Jesus Christ. It is our goal to honor and glorify Him in all that we do - in our worship, in our teaching, in our testimonies, in our small groups, in our step studies and in our fellowship. We praise Him for His mercy and grace.
The Word of God is our guidebook and authority. When in doubt, go to the source of authority, the Holy Scripture. As a ministry of Northwest Bible Church, we are established under and are subject to the authority of the elder board.
Anonymity and confidentiality are an absolute commitment and are essential to our "safe place."
