Introducing Our New Worship Minister!
I am excited to announce the hiring of our new worship minister, Peyton Neill. Peyton led us in worship twice in September, and many of you expressed your enthusiasm for Peyton joining our community on a full-time basis.
The Neill Family
Peyton and his wife, Ashley, come to us from Central Baptist Church in Tyler, where Peyton has served as worship pastor for five years. They have been married over six years and have two children, Asher (5) and Nora (4).
As we shared with you in our last update, we considered over 30 potential candidates for this position. Peyton possesses the qualities I was seeking in a worship minister: humility, creativity, leadership, talent and a clear commitment to our mission of inviting people into the unexpected joy of desperate dependence on Jesus. We also believe his passion to connect with young families while still engaging a multigenerational community will serve our church well. During the interview process, Peyton expressed his appreciation of our multigenerational community as “evidence of a healthy and inclusive church.”
Peyton will join our staff on Monday, November 6. He will lead us in worship for the first time as our worship minister on Sunday, November 12. Peyton and his family will complete their service to Central Tyler and transition to Dallas in late October. Please pray for their family as they close one chapter of their life and prepare to start a new one here.
Thank you, again, for your patience, support and prayers during our eight-month search for a new worship minister. I look forward to a new season of music and ministry at Northwest under Peyton’s leadership.
