Advent 2017

Date: Thursday, November 23, 2017

As we enter into the joyous Advent season, please consider your involvement in the following events and activities:

GIVE & SERVE: Vickery Christmas Market | December 9
We’re delighted to bring back a wonderful event this year that allows you to give and serve in December. At the Vickery Christmas Market on Saturday, December 9, refugee families will have the chance to give back to their community by bringing a small item to stock the resource room at the Northwest Community Center. In return, they will have the opportunity to select a gift for their child.

GIVE to the Christmas Market by purchasing gifts on our Amazon Wish List and have the items shipped directly to the community center. You can also drop off a new, unwrapped toy at the community center any time before December 9, or at the Worship Center foyer table on Sundays, November 26 and December 3.

SERVE at the Northwest Community Center on December 9 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. by greeting families, wrapping presents and other various opportunities.

NORTHWEST CARES | December 10
Since 2010, Northwest has supported families right here within our church body who need help with basic needs. A special offering will be taken this Christmas season on Sunday, December 10.

As a Northwest member or attendee, you are encouraged to identify those families in the body who will benefit from this Christmas offering. To nominate someone today, please visit northwestbible.org/northwestcares, and then prayerfully consider how you might give this year to those in need.

If you plan to make a donation to this special offering, please put “Northwest Cares” on the memo line of your check on December 10. Thank you for your generosity this Christmas!

COMFORT & JOY SERVICE | December 21
A special Christmas service for anyone hurting or grieving during this holiday season, the Comfort & Joy candlelight service will be held Thursday, December 21, from 6:45–7:30 p.m. (optional dinner at 6:15 p.m.) in the Christian Life Center (CLC) Quads A & B. Christmas cookies and cider to follow!

The Comfort & Joy service is a great opportunity to invite someone in your life that is hurting into a healing conversation about Jesus during the holiday season.
