Middle School Minister
I have served on our student ministry team at Northwest Bible since the summer of 2007. My previous experience with youth came from serving youth groups in college as well as multiple internships that involved camping and local church ministry. My wife and I moved from Tulsa to Dallas so I could attend Dallas Theological Seminary. During that time Northwest became our church home, and soon after, I accepted the role of Jr. High Minister. We have a daughter and a son who remind us that God is good, gracious and has a sense of humor!
I grew up in a Christian home, was surrounded by a loving family, and accepted Jesus as my Savior in Jr. High. Throughout high school I lived much of my life pursuing my own desires but was continually reminded of Jesus’ love and forgiveness by the adults around me. It wasn’t until college that my faith became something I truly owned, and that is when I understood that my identity was in Jesus. My continual desire is to live a life modeling dependence on Jesus for everything. My passion is surrounding our students with loving and caring adults who will live life with them—so that our students may come to know the love of God and share it with others.
When I am not hanging out with students, I love running around with my family, eating Mexican food at least three times per week, drinking coffee, and working out. I love to continually learn by reading books and blogs on leadership and theology as well as fitness. My favorite verses that I meditate on daily are: Colossians 1:17 “He [Jesus] is before all things, and in Him all things hold together” and Matthew 6:25-34 “Do not worry about your life…seek first His Kingdom”.
