Minister to Women
I joined the staff at Northwest Bible Church in 2016. Previously, I was a high school teacher at Richardson High School teaching AP Calculus, AVID, and Peer Mediation. But I spent most of my free time pouring out into ministry and small group leaders of the young adult group, The Table. I love Northwest Bible, the community, the leadership’s desperate dependence on Jesus, and how each of us are called to this same desperate dependence on Jesus individually and together as a body.
I grew up in a pastor’s home and first came to know Jesus when I was five. Letting go of my vision of a perfect life and accepting Jesus’ life, I have come to know Him deeper and deeper through each surrender. In college and during my twelve years as a teacher, God placed in my heart a love for the nations and specifically a passion for women to know the truth and the source of their value and worth. We each have different stories in life. Our life does not find its ultimate meaning in a role or status such as a professional, mother, single, or wife, but in our personal relationship with Jesus. No role or status will ever satisfy. In 2005 I started my Masters in Biblical Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. It took me seven years as I took classes on the nights and weekends while I was teaching full time. In my twelve years of teaching and my five years coaching small groups, God gave me many relationships with young women, who were my students or small group leaders, where I had a front seat to His impact in their lives through one-on-one discipleship. My heart bleeds small groups and discipleship where each of us can be challenged and encouraged to grow and stretch in our faith and relationship with Jesus.
I married in December of 2015. I love spending time with friends and family especially while playing games (I am a competitive Nertz player) or walking at White Rock Lake. I LOVE to travel and get the itch every year. But most of all, I love Jesus and real, deep conversation about living life with Him. My favorite verse is Zephaniah 3:17. “The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
