In 2017, I made the jump from public accounting to serve on staff here at Northwest Bible Church. I graduated Texas A&M University in May 2015 with a degree in Accounting and a master’s in Management Information Systems. Right after graduation, I went to work at EY (formerly Ernst & Young), performing IT audits for public companies. During that time, I started attending Northwest and a year later, became a member. As I saw God at work in the life of our church body through small groups and the Young Adults Ministry, I got the itch to be even more involved and so I decided to jump on board full-time!
I was raised as the youngest child and only daughter of a small-town preacher and his wife who love Jesus and live it out daily. At the age of seven, I accepted Christ as my savior, but I really only knew God as a macro God: a God who created the heavens and earth, who spoke us all into being, who died for all our sins. At the age of ten, my father passed away from complications with diabetes and my world was rocked. It was then that I began to know God as a micro God: a God who created and loved me, my Comfort, my Friend, my Father. Since then, it has been my joy to connect people to the church and show them the depths and the heights of the love of Jesus and that’s exactly what I get to do in my role now.
My husband and I love eating Mexican food and going to sporting events, particularly Aggie Football and the Dallas Stars. It’s our goal to travel to every Minor League Baseball stadium in the U.S and since there are more than 450 of them, we are just hoping to complete it before we are too old to travel! When we aren’t on the road, I love to craft and make wooden signs. I get particularly giddy when someone asks me to paint this portion of Esther 4:4, “And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” It’s such a wonderful reminder that God has a plan and He is calling us to step into it!
