What to Expect
6:15 | DINNER
Come for food and fellowship. Our volunteers prepare a meal each week and we enjoy connecting with each other before the meeting.
6:45 | LARGE GROUP
Another volunteer team opens our time with praise and worship before we listen to a teaching or testimony based on the 12 steps. This is a time of sharing and encouragement as people tell their stories of recovery and how it has impacted their lives. There is pain and grief, but there is healing and, most importantly, grace. It would be difficult to find a more supportive environment in which to share struggles, failures and triumphs. You will be encouraged and inspired by what you hear here.
7:30 | SMALL GROUPS
After our teaching or testimony, we break into smaller, issue-specific groups - Men's Open Group, Women's Open Group and Family Issues. This is a time to share what is going on in your life with others who will listen and care. There is no pressure, just opportunity; no one is expected to share until they are ready. Each person is given 3-5 minutes. There is no cross-talk from the group members during this time. Anonymity is our highest priority, so what is said in the group stays in the group.
This small group environment is at the core of Recovery for Life. These groups are places of healing, accountability, and truth. This is experienced more fully as 12-step groups form that will walk through the steps for 9-12 months. This long-term commitment offers some of the most powerful recovery experiences available. For those who are ready, it will change your life.
