WHAT IS WORLD PASSION WEEK?
World Passion Week is an annual week-long celebration of what God has been doing through Northwest missions over the past year, and a contemplation of how He's calling us to invest in missions over the next year. This year, we're considering how Today Matters Tomorrow and reflecting on Philippians 1:3-5. Everything you and I do today has an impact on God's future Kingdom.
WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE?
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 9 & 10:35 am – FIRST SUNDAY
Join us for worship as we highlight missionaries in East Asia who are at risk of being kicked out of the country due to persecution by the government. They know that the time they spend training church planters has an immediate impact on future expansion of the Gospel. Join us as we watch and learn more about their plans for building up tomorrow's leaders in Asia.
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 6:30-8 pm – MEN'S MISSIONS DINNER
Men, come hang out and connect with our missions partners over cornhole and delicious food truck options from Super Sliders! We'll meet in the Christian Life Center (CLC). Register for childcare here!
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 6:30-8 pm – WOMEN'S MISSIONS DINNER
Ladies, get to know some of our Northwest missions partners! Enjoy food and conversation while engaging with how God is working through our missions partners around the world. Find location details here. Registration is required and childcare is available.
:: SOLD OUT :: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 29, 5:00-8 pm – "EMANUEL" MOVIE
In light of our theme "Today Matters Tomorrow," we have created a unique opportunity to help us invest more compassionately in future conversations about Jesus. Read more about our co-hosted showing of the movie "Emanuel." Tickets are free, but registration is required for admittance as there are a limited number of seats. Dinner will be served and childcare is available. EMANUEL IS CURRENTLY SOLD OUT- you can get on the waiting list here.
SUNDAY, MARCH 1, 9 & 10:35 am – SECOND SUNDAY
Join us as we worship with youth from our church and our refugee churches! We will be highlighting our investment in youth from war-torn countries through our Northwest Community Center for the opportunity to help shape their unwritten futures. We'll see how investing in conversations about Jesus today matters tomorrow. Be sure to pick up this year's prayer guide in the foyer before you leave!
MONDAY, MARCH 2, 7:00-8:00 am – MEN'S EQUIPPING BREAKFAST
Men, you're invited to our monthly meetup for breakfast where we build each other up in Christ. This month features a panel on work and worship including one of our missionaries. Find more details here.
WHAT IS FAITH PROMISE?
Each year at this time, we pledge through the Faith Promise campaign to collectively support local and international missions around the world. This is the only source of funds to do all that God has called us to do in missions for the next twelve months. This is completely separate from the church's general fund. Everything we do next year is dependent on what we commit to our Faith Promise campaign as a church during the course of a few weeks. Find your pledge card in the pew on Sundays beginning February 23 or submit your pledge online!
THE IMPORTANCE OF FAITH PROMISE
Our Missions budget supports 51 missionary families along with 22 missions organizations spread over 6 continents. Last year, 452 families pledged over $1.5 million to be part of God's mission through our church. This amount allows us to focus on the world as well as support 3 staff families working in Vickery Meadow and covers the operating cost of our Northwest Community Center in that neighborhood.
FAITH PROMISE FOR KIDS & STUDENTS
This year, kids and students can participate in Faith Promise, too! We've created a unique Faith Promise experience for kids and students to learn about how they can invest in missions through their own giving. Pick up a special Faith Promise card for kids in the Children's Building or for students in The Theater on Sundays beginning February 23!
You could win $1,000 toward your mission trip with Northwest with our Go Pass! Learn more about how to enter here.
