Summer Series - The Depravity of Evil - With Abe Kuruvilla
Join us for our summer series with Dr. Abe Kuruvilla, “The Depravity of Evil,” July 22–August 12. We will continue his Summer 2016 study on the Book of Judges, a book that describes the situation of God’s people spiraling from bad to worse, the repercussions of deteriorating leadership and the ill moral climate of that day.
In some arena or another, to some degree or another, we, the children of God, are all leaders in this dark world… at home, at work, at school and at play. Through these lessons that Judges teaches about sin and its consequences, chaos and selfish gain, we are given the chance to seriously consider our leadership as Christians and our responsibility to be light in our society.
Dr. Kuruvilla, senior research professor of Pastoral Ministries at Dallas Theological Seminary, will go through the stories of Abimelech, Jephthah, Micah and the Levite, and the Levite and the Concubine. These stories will challenge us to combat the depravity of evil in our day through repentance, humility, holiness and compassion. As facets of our own godly leadership, these characteristics best reflect Christlikeness to our family, friends, neighbors and coworkers.
