Coronavirus Update: Church Online Sunday
Dear Friends & Northwest Family,
Each hour brings new information about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact on our city and the world. We have been monitoring developments throughout the week and preparing for the possibility that we would not be able to gather on our campus for worship and other church activities.
Given recent developments, including Dallas County’s decision to declare a state of emergency as of 10 p.m. last night, we are moving our worship service online beginning this Sunday through Sunday, March 29, and closing our main campus and the Northwest Community Center as of noon today through Friday, April 3.
ONLINE SUNDAY SERVICE
We will have ONE online service time at 9 a.m. beginning this Sunday. Our service will be streamed live on our Facebook page and to YouTube. If you’ll be watching the live stream on Facebook, we encourage you to share it on your feed. If you’ll be watching via YouTube, consider inviting someone to join you by sending them the link. We will email you the link each Sunday morning at 8:45 to join us online. If you miss the live service, you can find the sermon video on our website each Sunday evening.
All other on-campus ministries including our Wednesday night dinner and related ministries, Recovery for Life, and Northwest Preschool will not meet through Friday, April 3. Off-campus events such as our INTown Retreat for students and Spring Break Camp at the Northwest Community Center in Vickery for our refugee brothers and sisters are canceled. More information about particular ministries, programs, and events will be forthcoming from our staff. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact our staff if you have a particular question.
Even though we’re not gathering in-person for worship, you still have the opportunity to partner with us in the gospel by giving your tithes and offerings through the mail or online. Please remember that Faith Promise pledge cards are due by Sunday, March 29. If you have not yet submitted your pledge card, you can do so online. If you have any questions about giving, please do not hesitate to contact our controller, Joe Brogdon, at email@example.com.
As we take these precautionary measures to care for our multi-generational church, our staff, our friends and neighbors outside the church, and our city, we stand firm in our belief that “neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39.
Our God is on His throne and His church is strong. We look forward to connecting, caring and worshiping with you in different ways in the weeks to come and claim the new opportunities that will arise in these uncertain times to proclaim the love of Christ.
