It is an honor to serve as the Controller here at Northwest Bible Church. I joined the team in July 2018, after serving four years as a Controller at another large church in the DFW area. Prior to that, my experience included corporate roles in Accounting, Finance, and Process Improvement (Lean Six Sigma). My call to serve the Church came in 2013 after tragedy struck my family and I was left to raise my two children alone as a single mother. Years later, God blessed me with a man that has stood by my side through some very difficult times and is now my husband. It is by His grace that I have been given a beautiful testimony to God’s love and faithfulness.
I grew up in a Christian home and came to know Jesus Christ at a very early age. It was a powerful moment when God transformed my heart…so profound that it brought me to tears. As I embraced the truth that He had given His only Son to pay for my sins, I remember feeling a deep sense of gratitude and humility. Shortly after graduating from high school, I drifted and began living in rebellion to God’s word, pursuing the desires of my heart, not His purpose. It was late in 2011 that God began calling me back to Him, and after the loss of my husband in 2013, a profound call to serve the Church was placed on my heart. Through all of the change I have experienced in my life, I have discovered my gift of “stabilizing transitions”. I seek to create stability amid chaos for myself and others. The key to this stability is an ongoing trust and desperate dependence on Jesus.
I am a native Texan and enjoy spending time with my kids, watching movies, cooking out, playing the piano, trying new restaurants, and vacationing at the beach. My favorite sport to watch is Texas Aggie Football. I am grateful for the opportunity to work at Northwest Bible Church. The scripture that has helped me to remember God’s promise is Jeremiah 29:11-12, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.”
